🇯🇵 Japanese vs 🇺🇸 American Laundry Life

アメリカあめりかでは、洗濯機せんたくきと乾燥機かんそうきがある「ランドリールーム」が普通ふつうです。
でも、日本にほんでは、今いまでも物干ものほし竿ざおで外そとに干ほす家いえがたくさんあります。

In the U.S., it’s common to have a laundry room with a washer and dryer. But in Japan, many people still hang their clothes outside on a 物干し竿ものほしざお (laundry pole)!

• アメリカ：80〜90% の家いえに乾燥機かんそうきがあります。
• 日本：3〜5% しか乾燥機かんそうきを持もっていません。
• 40%くらいの人ひとは乾燥機能かんそうきのうつきの洗濯機せんたくきを使つかっています。

• U.S.: 80–90% of households own a dryer.
• Japan: Only 3–5% of households own a dryer.
• About 40% of people use a washing machine with a built-in drying function.

🧺 How Japanese People Do Laundry

Regular Laundry (No Dryer)

1. 洗濯物せんたくものを分わける
2. 洗濯機せんたくきを使つかう（30〜40分ふん）
3. ベランダべらんだに干ほす
4. 太陽たいようで自然しぜんに乾かわかす 🌞

1. Sort the laundry
2. Use the washing machine (30–40 minutes)
3. Hang the laundry on the balcony
4. Let it dry naturally in the sun ☀️

🧐 Why Do Japanese People Hang Clothes Outside?

• 🌤 天気てんきがいいから： 晴はれが多おおい
• 🧘‍♀️ 文化ぶんか： 日ひに当あてると清潔せいけつで健康けんこうと信しんじている
• 💸 電気代でんきだい： 乾燥機かんそうきは電気でんきをたくさん使つかう
• 🏠 家いえが小ちいさい： 乾燥機かんそうきを置おく場所ばしょがない

🌤 Good weather: Many sunny days

🧘‍♀️ Culture: Belief that sun exposure keeps clothes clean and healthy

💸 Electricity cost: Dryers use a lot of electricity

🏠 Small houses: No space to install a dryer
